About Maple

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I am needing to rehome my 4 year old heeler-pitt mix as soon as possible. My circumstances have changed significantly and become unsustainable for the both of us. My current mental health is making this more urgent than is ideal, and I need her to be in a home that can help her thrive more than I can. Some info about Maple (otherwise known as Ma'mple, Sample, Miss Ma'm, etc.): Maple is a silly, sweet, spunky girl who deserves a home and owner who has the energy, time and resources to meet all of her needs. She is 4 years old (birthday in February.) She is spayed and microchipped. Maple is incredibly smart and goofy, loves to make you laugh, and can pick up on new tricks very easily. She LOVES games like fetch and soccer and would do well with an owner who can play or hike with her regularly. Maple's general interests are: tennis ball, stick found on walk, that squirrel over there, and showing you her new toy. Maple loves to please and protect her people, but does need patience and space from strangers and acquaintances. Because of her anxiety, Maple will need someone to show her patience and go slow with her as she gets to know them. Once she knows you, she loves you with her whole heart. Maple gets along with some, but not all dogs, and would likely integrate the most easily in a home with no other dogs. However, on a case by case basis she may be a good fit with older, low energy male dogs. Maple has completed an e-collar training course with Amani K9 in Lakewood, WA and I hope to work with them for introductions with a new potential owner if possible. Additionally, Amani K9 may be an ongoing resource for an adopter (can provide more information.) Maple would do best with an owner (or owners) who have experience with fearful dogs, have space for her to play, and have a lifestyle where they can be home or with her for the majority of the day. Because of her herding behaviors, Maple would do best in a home with no cats. Please reach out to me if you think you might be a good fit for Miss Ma'm.
