BEAR IS LOOKING FOR HIS FOREVER VALENTINE! A Prayer for Bear . This Valentine's Day, this post is going out with a prayer that Bear's angel is out there and finally takes him home. Bear's story is one of heartbreak, survival, and a love that refused to be extinguished. What he lacks in legs, this sweet, resilient boy makes up for in spirit, soul, and the biggest heart imaginable. Bear is 4 years old, about 65 lbs of pure gentle loyalty, and a proud, brave 3-legged tripod who moves through life like a miracle on paws. As a puppy, Bear lost his front right leg after a vicious dog attack. And yet, just like the orthopedic specialist once said: 'Dogs are born with three legs and a spare.' They adapt. They heal. They carry on. But Bear's pain didn't end there. In December 2023, Bear was surrendered to the city shelter two days before Christmas, with fresh dog bites on his muzzle and back from yet another attack. He spent the holidays scared and alone - yet still became a staff favorite, melting hearts even in the darkest place. Then came his first real miracle. In March 2024, Bear left the shelter and entered a foster home, where he has remained ever since - described as the 'perfect guest.'No barking. No whining. Just gentle gratitude. Bear loves to play more than a walk, balls are his favorite, but his stuffed animals are his treasures. He will carry them on adventures, not because he needs them but because he loves them that much. He carries them proudly in his mouth like little love letters he never wants to drop. Bear is the kind of dog who: Leans in for kisses, Gives gentle, loyal eye contact like he already trusts you, Plays like a happy, goofy kid, Snuggles like a soulmate And is even good in the bath. Recently, Bear underwent Rectal Prolapse Repair . He is healthy now and healing beautifully. At the moment, he is using wee-wee pads while everything fully heals and his body readjusts. Part of his recovery journey. His foster has lovingly supported him through his entire journey, but due to changes in her personal circumstances, she is no longer able to continue housing him. This has nothing to do with Bear he has been an amazing boy. Bear does well meeting other dogs, but due to his past trauma, he should be the only dog in the home. He is non-reactive, gentle, and people-loving . Bear needs a human who understands that healing isn't always linear. A home where love doesn't come with conditions. A person who sees resilience as beautiful, not inconvenient.
