About Lily

German Shepherd
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

WHO WILL BE LILY'S VALENTINE? The holidays came and went'| and sweet Lily is still waiting. Still hoping. Still believing that somewhere out there, her person exists. All Lily wanted for Christmas was a forever home. Now, with Valentine's Day approaching, her only wish is simple: to be loved. To belong. To finally be chosen. Lily is a beautiful 2-year-old German Shepherd, about 50 lbs, with a playful spirit and the most soulful eyes you've ever seen. She does these precious little head tilts when she looks at you - like she's gently asking, 'Could you be my person?' She is loving, loyal, affectionate, and has so much love to give. Lily wants nothing more than to be someone's girl - to run, play, cuddle, and finally feel safe in a home that's hers forever. Lily has higher energy and thrives when she can run and play, especially with other dogs. She LOVES canine friends and would do amazing with a playful pup companion. But because loud, chaotic environments overwhelm her, Lily is looking for a very specific kind of home: Adults-only Cat-free Low traffic, calm household A single person or couple who wants a loyal best friend And here's the part that breaks our hearts'| Lily's life almost ended before it even truly began. She was found emaciated as a stray and brought to an overcrowded shelter. In May 2024, she landed on the euthanasia list - her life literally hanging by a thread. Until one kind foster said, 'She deserves a chance.' And Lily blossomed. She gained healthy weight. She learned how to play. She made dog friends. She enjoys car rides. She loves snuggles and gentle affection. At first she may be shy meeting new people - but once she trusts you, her sweet, gentle soul shines in the most beautiful way. The kind of love that feels rare. The kind that heals both of you. But now'| her foster can only keep her a few more weeks. And Lily is at risk of losing her safe place again. She has been such a good girl all year long. She survived abandonment. She survived the shelter. She survived being unwanted. She deserves the world. Or at least'| one loving home. Lily is fully vetted, spayed, microchipped, and ready for the forever home she's been dreaming of. She can also be fostered first, and the rescue will even provide a trainer to support her transition. Her current foster adores her, but sadly they have cats and a very active household it's just not the right long-term fit for the peaceful life Lily needs. Can be transporter to neighboring states. So we are begging'| please don't scroll past her. If you are single or a couple with a calm, low-traffic home Lily could be your soulmate dog. She is both crate-trained and house-trained. An Embark DNA test shows she is 100% German Shepherd Dog, and she truly embodies the breed's loyalty, intelligence, and drive. She loves to play tug and fetch and is happiest when she's engaged with her people. She's also a big fan of dairy-her favorite treats are cheese, whipped cream, and the occasional 'pup cup' of ice cream. Lily has a lot of energy and would thrive in a home either with a fenced yard where she can run and play, or with an active person who enjoys regular exercise and enrichment. Keeping her physically and mentally engaged makes a big difference for her. We want to be fully transparent to help Lily find the best possible match. She is not a good fit for a home with cats, as she has a strong instinct to chase them. She can be highly reactive to new people and therefore should not be placed in a home with children. Lily has had success making friends with other dogs in the past, but needs a slow, supervised introduction to all new friends - both human and canine. Lily would do best in an experienced, adult-only household that can provide structure, patience, and continued training. We love Lily very much, and it's incredibly hard to admit that, despite our best efforts, our home is not the right long-term fit for her as we have both cats and kids. Lily has so much love to give, and we know the right home is out there for her. Thank you for considering Lily.
