About Charles Barkely

We are looking for a new home for Charles Barkley, our 8-year-old Corgi / Mini Australian Shepherd mix. We've had Charles since he was a puppy and love him dearly. This has been an incredibly hard decision, but we want to give him the chance to live his best life in an environment that truly suits him. ��%BD��%BDͻ About Charles Charles is a smart, affectionate, and spirited dog who bonds deeply with his adult humans. He loves walks, car rides, fetch, tug-of-war, and being near his people. He's house-trained, crate-trained, very food-motivated, and knows many commands. He would do especially well with someone who works from home and enjoys a loyal companion. ��%BD��%BD%8F��%BD The Home He Needs Charles is a bit quirky and sensitive and does best in a calm, predictable environment. He needs: An adult-only home Someone comfortable reading and respecting a dog's cues Thoughtful introductions to new people and animals While he hasn't been around other dogs recently, he has successfully played with dogs at dog parks and been cared for alongside other dogs in the past. He does best meeting dogs in a neutral environment, which helps set him up for success. We highly encourage meet-and-greets to see if it's the right match. ��%BD��%BD� Additional Info Charles can be vocal when new people arrive and can become uncomfortable if his boundaries aren't respected. He is currently on trazodone (per our vet) to help with anxiety, but we feel he would thrive more fully in a home that can give him more attention, structure, and enrichment. He is up to date on vet care and comes with all supplies (crate, leash, toys, food).
