Buddy is a sweet snuggly big guy! I have been fostering Buddy for a couple of months. (His owner fell ill and could no longer care for him.)%A0%A0Buddy is an incredibly loving companion. Buddy is about 5 years old and 90 pounds. He loves: playing fetch, snuggling, sniffing, belly scratches, more belly scratches, and also belly scratches. I am looking for a permanent home for him as I live in NYC and he needs to be in an area where he can run around all the time. I hoped that NYC would be a better fit for him, but I know he is better suited to the type of environment he grew up in. (He lived in rural Pennsylvania before coming to me.) Buddy is incredibly sweet and attaches quickly to human companions. He is very well house-trained and well behaved within the home. He does not jump on counters or on people. However, he does need retraining for outside - he pulls on the leash, and he does not have good response on 'come' (and does not know the 'stop' command). I believe he has never learned these skills. *Important info: Buddy has gotten into a couple of scuffles with smaller dogs. He needs to be in a rural or suburban area where he has sufficient space of his own, rather than among a lot of other dogs (e.g. in dog parks). He is not a protective dog; rather, he was not socialized around a lot of dogs so when other dogs approach him to play he does not seem to know how. Though Buddy grew up in a two-dog household, I believe he would be best suited to be the only dog in a new home.
