About Glimmer

Glimmer is a rescue and is a loving, intelligent, affectionate dog who bonds deeply with her person. She is playful, expressive, and genuinely enjoys the company of other dogs in non-food situations. She is not reactive or aggressive by nature or with people and has many wonderful qualities that make her an amazing companion. Glimmer was rescued from a severe starvation situation, and as a result she has significant food anxiety and resource-guarding behaviors in multi-dog environments. While she can be friendly and social with other dogs, the presence of another dog during feeding times or around food creates anxiety that is not fair or safe for her to manage long-term. Because of this, Glimmer truly needs a home where she can be the only dog, with predictable routines and no competition around food. Glimmer also has high energy needs and would do best in a home with a secure, fenced-in yard where she can run, play, and decompress regularly. Adequate physical and mental outlets make a big difference in her overall well-being. This decision is not due to lack of love or effort. It is about recognizing that her needs exceed what I can currently manage with 3 other huskies. Glimmer is potty and crate trained as well. She does well on leash and in cars but has a slight fear of parking lots due to her abandonment and needs a harness for walks.
