About DUFFY

Adoption Fee: $500
Poodle
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

DUFFY is a 15-month-old 8.3 pound Poodle who came to us as an owner surrender. He is a happy, affectionate, playful little boy who is ready to be someone's constant companion. He will be best in a home that gives him the love, attention, and activity he so clearly enjoys. DUFFY is friendly and loving. He adores people, loves attention, and enjoys being part of whatever his humans are doing. He's just as happy running and playing as he is curling up for snuggles. He's an active little guy, fast on his feet and full of fun, but he also settles nicely when it's time to relax. DUFFY does great with the other dogs in his foster home and absolutely loves to play. We are looking for a home with another small playful dog for companionship and activity. While he hasn't been around children, his sweet and gentle nature suggests he would likely do well with them. We do not know how he would be with cats. DUFFY hasn't had any potty accidents in his foster home. While he doesn't yet have a clear way of alerting when he needs to go out, he does very well going potty during regular outdoor time. He walks nicely on a leash once he gets going, though he can be a little timid at first. With his foster family, he comes when called, listens well, and is eager to please but one of the reasons he was surrendered was because he had to habit of running away so a fenced yard is required. Because he is light on his feet and can jump surprisingly high, a taller, secure fenced yard is recommended. He's also very curious when doors open, so supervision is important to keep him safe. When his foster is away, DUFFY does well in a kennel and has even learned to go in on command. He may bark briefly when first left but quickly settles down. At night, he likes to move between the couch, the big bed, and his puppy pen, often choosing to sleep on his own with the pen door left open. DUFFY is up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. He's still a little underweight and will benefit from putting on a bit more, but his personality more than makes up for his tiny size. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review.
