[Read About Natural Incontinence Care] I have been searching for resources and help for our family dog. I am fighting back tears now just typing this message because my heart is broken to be looking for the help that we need. We have a 5 yr old dachshund boy named Rocket. He recently has been diagnosed with IVDD. He sustained a spine injury last month and he has been seen by our local vet, and a veterinary neurologist. His prognosis is severely disabled and he is considered to be a category 5 and permanently paralyzed due to his IVDD injury. His back legs are completely paralyzed and he is suffering from incontinence. He must wear a diaper at all times due to his incontinence. I am desperate to find a sanctuary or rescue that would take him in. I can not bear the thought of putting him down when he has so much spirit and life still left in him. He has been an amazing family pet for us and this diagnosis has devastated us to the core. He is friendly, obedient, and playful. My husband and I work full time and we have 3 young daughters. The sad reality is that we don't have the time available to dedicate the care for Rocket in the way he requires for his new life. We are already noticing how his incontinence has become a health concern with rashes, fur matting, and pressure sores. He would need to go to a loving home that could give him full time care.
