Coco is a 3-year-old Cocker Spaniel who is still learning that the world (and the people in it) can be kind. She is very shy but beneath her quiet exterior is a sweet, sensitive girl who is trying very hard to learn how to trust. Coco will need a calm, peaceful home with an experienced and patient adopter who understands that trust must be earned on her terms. She is not a dog who can be rushed. Coco chooses when and how she feels safe, and right now she will only accept pets when she is the one to approach you. But when she does, it feels like a small victory worth celebrating. Despite her shyness, Coco has made remarkable progress in a short amount of time. Each day, she grows a little braver, a little more curious, and a little more confident in her surroundings. Having another small, confident dog in the home is essential, as she learns best by watching her foster siblings and following their lead. Coco is crate trained, continues to work on learning everyday 'dog' routines, and is doing well with a consistent schedule. She may be quiet and reserved, but her progress speaks volumes about her resilience and potential.
