About Mazie Mae

Mazie is a sweet, 16 mos old, 42-pound, female, Purebred Carolina Dog who is up-to-date on all vaccines and on Heartguard prevention. Since her exact breed wasn't listed on RescueMe, we had to choose the closest looking one. Carolina Dogs are known for their agility and endurance, which contributes to their high energy levels and thrive in active family environments and enjoy activities such as running, hiking, and playing fetch. She was hand raised from a tiny pup by her original owners. When their jobs became too time consuming, she was left outside where she jumped their 4-foot fence trying to find them when they left for work so she was surrendered to us. She's timid and shy at first around people she doesn't know, but warms up quickly. In doggie daycare, though, she enjoys exploring and is super friendly and loving with staff and other dogs. She is a loyal dog who follows her foster mom everywhere and always wants to be near her. Mazie is potty, crate, and doggie door trained. She prefers running loose in a large, confined area and loves to play fetch or relaxing and sunbathing. She doesn't like to walk on a leash, but an experienced owner would be able to work with her on this. When she's inside, she loves to curl up and love on you.
