About Willow

Hello! This is Willow, my 4-year-old Heeler / Pit Bull mix. She is spayed and up to date on vaccines through the end of February. I am looking for a committed, active home that understands high-energy, intelligent dogs and is willing to meet her needs. Willow has MUCH more of a cattle dog personality than a pit bull. She is amazing on the leash when going on walks, however she is fear-reactive toward other dogs on them, so proper leash handling skills and knowledge will help her get through it. She can live with other dogs, but a slow, structured introduction is a requirement and it will be a long process. She works well with cats once she gets over the initial excitement. A one dog kinda person or family is what would be best for her as she needs as much attention as one person can give. Some kind of yard is a must since her true happiness in life are frisbee and fetch (doesn't play keep away, will return the ball enthusiastically and can catch frisbees!) Willow is very vocal and expressive and will definitely 'talk back.' She has a big personality, loves to snuggle under blankets, give kisses, and be close to her people. She does well with kids, especially active ones (wonderful at wearing them out of energy). Willow is loyal, affectionate, and thrives when she has attention and stimulation. She is not a low-energy dog, but for the right person she is an incredible companion. I love her so much but I'm in college and work a graveyard shift and cannot give her as much activity as she desperately needs. She deserves the best out of life and I want to see her go to someone else who really understands what she needs.
