About Beauty

Hi! I'm Beauty, a 3 year old, 26-lb black cocker spaniel. My name is very fitting, don't you think? I spent my early years as a breeder dog living outside and sadly arrived to FCCR heartworm positive. But GOOD NEWS, I just finished my treatment and I'm expected to make a full recovery. I'm SO ready for my new life and now looking for my forever home! I'm a little shy, especially around men, so I need an experienced cocker spaniel adopter who gets that I need time and patience. When we're out walking and I see strangers especially men, I might hide behind you�'�|I'm learning to be more confident and brave but it takes time. I LOVE being outdoors and seeing wildlife. I LIGHT up when I spot wildlife-ibis, bunnies, birds-and I transform into the happiest girl ever! My tail untucks, my worries disappear, and I'm just pure JOY! I love other dogs, but not sure about cats and no young kids for me - they move quickly and startle me. I'm nervous around loud and unexpected noises (vacuums, lawn equipment, trucks) and I can bolt out an open door if scared. But each day I'm learning how wonderful it is to be an inside dog and be a valued family member. I'm discovering how amazing dog beds are and I'm starting to follow my people around asking for treats and pets!
