Phoenix was rescued from the euthanasia list. He lived with his abusers for 6 years. They neglected, starved, and strangled him, causing a Grade IV Hyphema to his left eye. Shortly after, they let him out & probably didn't let him back in, He was picked up by Animal control & placed on the euthanasia list. He was chipped to the previous owner but they refused him. I took him to get treated but eventually the eye became too damaged & was removed. He was groomed & received steroid shots to ease his itchy skin. I don't think he was ever bathed or groomed before, so we first had him groomed & I gently gave him medicated baths. He graduated with top scores from his first dog obedience training course. He is food motivated & will steal any food left out within his reach. He loves small squeaky toys as well as walks & playing with other dogs at the large dog park nearby. He loves laying next to his special person on the couch & is also comfortable going into his kennel when he wants to be left alone. He gets along well with my dogs. He is a friendly loving dog that deserves a second chance to be loved.
