About Mara

Meet Mara! Mara is a 7 month old Australian Shepherd mix female. Mara is a sweet, gentle soul looking for her forever home. She was rescued alongside her mom, who has already found her happily-ever-after-now it's Mara's turn! Mara is great with kids, cats, and other dogs. While she does well with children, we'd prefer a home with kids 6 years and older, as she can be a bit timid when meeting new people. Once she feels comfortable, her true personality shines-she will absolutely melt into you when you start petting her and loves being close to her people. She has been around large and small dogs, males and females, and does wonderfully with all. Mara enjoys playing on her own terms and is polite about letting other dogs know when she's had enough. She's just as happy lounging around and hanging out with her humans as she is playing. Mara is still very much a puppy and will need continued work with: Crate training, Potty training, Basic obedience, Car rides and general confidence building. She is eager to learn and truly wants to be part of a family-she just needs patience, consistency, love, and encouragement to help her build confidence and grow into the amazing dog she's meant to be.
