Viera was born and lived most of her life in Texas. She is a 65#, German Shepherd. She will be turning six years old on January 31st. She is dewormed, her rabies vaccine is up-to-date, and all prior vaccines were up-to-date up until six months ago. She has no health concerns And it doesn't seem like she has any hip problems either. For half of her life, she was pretty neglected. Mostly put in the backyard with her brother and from my understanding was definitely not loved appropriately, being that there were signs of abuse. When she's scared, she tends to freeze or fall over. She has zero dominant aggression and also doesn't seem to have any fearful aggression either. She was adopted by a young woman who wanted to help her. She has lived with her ever since and has shared that home with another German Shepherd as well. She has gotten a lot of experience with living in a home. I am a credited dog trainer and behavioral specialist who fosters dogs in need. Due to a tragic personal event in Viera's last owner's life she couldn't give her the attention she felt she deserved so she's with me now. She is very social and loves meeting new dogs and new people. She is great with kids. She is also good with cats. Viera is very appropriate at dog parks. Her previous owner doesn't think she needs to live with another dog to be happy. She particularly gets excited when she sees bunnies. She would probably be in heaven if she was able to chase them all day. She has had obedience training at a board and train for a couple of months almost every year since she's been with her last owner. She is the best at sit, place, heel, and crate training. She is also potty trained. Very rare if she barks in the house. It's usually only when she sees a dog walking by through the window and gets excited. Viera is beyond sweet, playful, and has a soft gentle heart. She is also very quirky. She can come off as pretty weird sometimes. But in cute ways! A couple of her quirks is if she's feeling very playful, she likes to go for your socks. She will gently take them off of your feet and proceed to put them in her toy box. Viera is also a cuddle bug but is also content sleeping in her dog bed. It is fun to snuggle with her at night. She does it in a way where you and her are comfortable when sleeping. When at home you'll usually find her playing with one of her toys (toys with squeakers are her favorite), but for the most part she is pretty lazy. The life I'm hoping for her is a place she can call her forever home. I could see her being very happy having a yard and someone who likes to snuggle.
