He was a bottle baby and was one of the 3 survivors out of his litter of 13. He is still learning about the world around him and adjusting to life as a pup. He has the most stunning blue eyes and is ready to play, eat, nap, and poo Horton needs an echocardiogram, and unfortunately this isn't a 'wait and see' situation. His heart murmur is sitting at a grade 5/6, which means we need answers - and a plan - sooner than later. Horton feels good today. He's waggy, sweet, and completely unaware that his heart is being a little extra. And that's exactly why we're moving quickly. An echo will tell us what's going on inside that big heart of his and how we can best support him moving forward. Specialty diagnostics like this aren't cheap, but they are necessary. This test helps determine treatment, medication, and what Horton's future looks like - and it gives us the ability to advocate for him the right way. This test will determine if he will grow out of it, if it is a fixable or nonfixable issue with surgery which ultimately could lead to a shorter life. Loving dogs means listening to their hearts - literally. Like all puppies, Horton will need ALL the things: Training (potty, crate, manners%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD| the whole syllabus) Socialization and confidence-building Structure, patience, consistency Love, guidance, and a sense of humor And yes%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD| sleep deprivation, nippy teeth, and surprise messes Puppies are a ton of work, and Horton will require an adopter who understands that raising a good dog doesn't happen by accident-it takes time, effort, and commitment. But if you're up for the challenge, the payoff is huge: a loyal, confident, well-rounded companion who grows up knowing he's safe, loved, and supported. Howie is ready to learn all the puppy things and would thrive with someone excited to put in the work and enjoy the journey. Meet and greets are arranged after an application has been approved. An approved application does not mean you must adopt the dog of interest, if it isn't a good fit.
