About Spec

Meet Spec, the pint sized pittie and Australian cattle dog mix! Spec came to the Shelter with his brother Spot. A good Samaritan had been caring for them for a few months after they were left on her property with their mom. Unable to keep them long term - the good sam provided wonderful socialization to get them started off on the right paw and even some initial vaccinations before bringing them to the Shelter to find adoptive homes. At the Shelter, Spec and Spot were fairly nervous so they are in a foster home where it is a bit quieter and less spooky. We are looking for two separate adopters to take them in. The foster reports the following about Spec: 'Spec is a total lovebug too and very fun. He loves love, is great on walks, he loves to fetch, he loves toys, and he is always ready to follow you - play and cuddle. He is the boss of the two and makes sure that he gets equal love (if not more) than Spot.' Spec is still perfecting potty training. He sleeps in the crate at night (with the door open). They have met some friends who have come over to visit. Spec has previously been in a home with other dogs and enjoyed their company. A canine play friend in the home may be a fit after a meet 'n greet at the Shelter. Spec is slowing being introduced to the foster home cats.
