Courtesy Posting: BUCKEYE, AZ (NR PHOENIX, SOME TRANSPORT TO QUALIFIED HOMES MAY BE AVAILABLE to surrounding states) STUNNING, YOUNGER 43 LB CREAM CHOW BOY 'CHAI' WHO WAS FOUND DUMPED AND TAKEN IN BY A GOOD SAMARITAN WHO PROVIDED VETTING WHEN NO OWNER CAME FORWARD- NOW IN NEED OF A LOVING, RESPONSIBLE HOME ASAP, ideally W/ BREED EXPERIENCE/PRIOR OWNERSHIP, GOOD W OTHER DOGS Please help us find a loving, ideally, chow savvy home for this very handsome boy who had been roaming the area for some time. A good Samaritan and rescuer took him in. and he is now named 'Chai', and is estimated to be only 2.5 years old and only 43 lbs. Chai was just neutered and vaccinated and has no reported medical issues or bites. He is currently in a temporary home with several other dogs. It is noted like many chows, Chai is 'aloof at first, very sweet and cuddly once he warms up. ' They also let us know he is 'good with other dogs, is dominant so recommend no other dominant males in the household.' Chai is already learning basic commands, and is now crate trained, and doggie door trained. He is potty trained, but did have some earlier incidents of marking in the home when first introduced and can be common in males who were not previously neutered. Chai was only neutered on 1/9. He may do fine with kids who are dog savvy, but at least 10 years and up is recommended. If you have another dog, ideally, we would also recommend a meet and greet. However, the good samaritan/rescuer may consider transport for a solid chow savvy home that seems risk free. A $250 rehoming fee is requested to help cover some of their expenses with vetting. All adopters will be asked for a home check (which may be virtual), an application, a vet reference, proof of prior chows, and a signed adoption contract.
