About Kya

Kya is a sweet, high energy dog. She is too much energy for my elderly mother and unfortunately we need to rehome her. Kya can get overexcited and will get mouthy. Kya needs someone who is active, patient and has experience with German Shepherds. I do not feel she would good for a home with children or elderly, due to her energy and mouthing. She knows basic commands, walks well on a leash, has had a puppy class, and an agility class which she loved and was very good at), and worked with an in home trainer. While she has come a long way, she still needs training. We have also used dog walkers and other than jumping up to greet them, she has done well. We have walked through town, parks, Lowes and the Rail Trail. She always wants to greet people, unfortunately by jumping up, and typically passes by other dogs fairly well. She will occasionally pull to greet other dogs, but listens fairly well to leave it. If a dog is reactive to her , she will occasionally put her hair up. She has done well with loose dogs that have come running up to her. Kya does have some prey drive, and would do best in a home without smaller pets. I do not know how she would do in a home with another dog.
