About Birdie

Beagle
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Female

__________ Meet Birdie Birdie is a 5-month-old registered Beagle who recently came to Mutt Life Dog Rescue as a local owner surrender. While she was originally intended to be a small game hunting dog, her heart had other plans. Birdie preferred staying close to her person and playing rather than working in the field, which makes her perfectly suited for life as a beloved companion. Weighing about 25 pounds, Birdie just arrived at a Mutt Life foster home on 1/9 and is beginning her transition from outdoor kennel life to living indoors. Because of this, she will be working on potty training and learning the routines of home life, but she is already adjusting well and eager to learn. Birdie can be slightly timid when first meeting new people, but she warms up quickly and shows her sweet, loving personality. She is very friendly with other dogs and enjoys their company. She does have a slight prey drive with cats, likely due to her hunting background. We think with continued guidance and training, this may be something she can work through. Birdie does well with people of all ages, including kids, and would make a wonderful family dog. She would also be a great fit for anyone looking for a smaller, affectionate companion who enjoys being close to her humans.
