About WONDER

WONDER is a 1 year old, 13.2 pound Westie mix pup who was rescued after being thrown from a car. He is a happy, confident boy with lots of puppy energy. WONDER is friendly and outgoing and loves people. From day one in his foster home, he made himself comfortable and bonded quickly. He follows his person everywhere, always wanting to be close, soaking up attention, and handing out plenty of kisses. He does have separation anxiety and will do better with a family who can be with him most of the time and with another dog in the home. WONDER is generally fine with other dogs and likes to play, but his energy level and strong personality can be a bit much for older or more laid-back dogs. He is not a good fit with an alpha dog. His best match will be a friendly female about his size and age. In his foster home, he's had a few squabbles over dog beds and treats and he does best with supervision and clear boundaries. He is fed separately to avoid any resource guarding issues. He is great with older kids and enjoys playing with them. Cats are an unknown. WONDER is doing well with potty training. He had a few accidents at first, but within a couple of days he learned how to use the doggie door and now reliably goes outside when he needs to. He walks okay on a leash and continues to improve with practice. A fenced yard is ideal for his energy and that is what we want for him. At night, WONDER sleeps in bed with his foster family and settles in nicely. He enjoys car rides, toys, and treats, and he especially loves playtime. WONDER is up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. We do not have a physical facility for visits. We adopt within a 6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally (within 1 hour to Pensacola). We do not ship or transport our dogs.
