Currently residing in a kennel at Charlotte Animal Care & Control, sweet Bambi spends her days surrounded by the echoing barks and cries of more than 200 overwhelmed dogs. The noise never stops. The stress never breaks. And every day, a little more of Bambi's spirit fades. Bambi is only two years old, a gentle little pit bull who wants nothing more than warmth, safety, and a family of her own. She's playful, toy-obsessed, and gives the kind of sloppy kisses that make you forget every bad moment in your day. But the shelter environment has been so hard on her. With the constant noise and fear, she's become reactive toward other dogs-so she needs to be the only pet for now. What she offers in return is pure, unconditional love. But Bambi is deteriorating. The holidays are over, and instead of fairy lights and fireplaces, she's falling deeper into the stress of shelter life. Bambi wasn't always this dog who is at her breaking point. On her recent day out, she fell asleep in the arms of a volunteer. She just needs somewhere to rest. She is losing hope. Because of stress, she's been given a deadline of 1/11 at 5pm. She needs a foster who will commit to fostering her through a rescue that has already been secured. Please consider saving sweet Bambi.
