Adoption Fee: $500
Jack Russell / Chihuahua
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Female

*LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY - Within a one-hour drive to Pensacola Florida.* MITTENS and BOOTSIE are 2 month old female Jack Russell Chihuahua mix puppies who were surrendered to a shelter. MITTENS weighs 7 pounds and BOOTSIE weighs 6 pounds. These two sweet girls are settling in beautifully in their foster home and showing more of their personalities every day. Both are very friendly, affectionate puppies who enjoy being close to their people and get along well with other dogs. They love following their foster mom around and prefer to be where the action is. At night, both happily snuggle up and sleep in the big bed with their foster mom. MITTENS has a single white mark on one front foot. She is the more affectionate puppy and is usually the first to seek out attention. She loves giving kisses, snuggling close, and being near her person. She enjoys small stuffed toys and puppy chew bones and is already attempting to play with the other dogs in her foster home. She is a confident, loving little girl who thrives on attention and connection. BOOTSIE has four white paws and a white chest. She is a bit shyer at first but warms up once she feels safe. She is more independent and curious than her sister and not quite as people-focused. She can be more sensitive to loud noises and big dogs barking and will run from sudden sounds. She enjoys playing independently with toys, curling up in a dog bed, and exploring on her own. She has a gentle, thoughtful personality and loves small, soft toys. MITTENS and BOOTSIE are learning the basics of puppy life and already know how to use steps to get on and off the couch and bed. Potty pad training is underway, with early success, especially when they are placed in their pen right after waking up from naps or bedtime. Like most puppies their age, they are in the chewing stage and enjoy playing with toys. Mealtime is still a work in progress, as both girls tend to eat a bit and then cry to be back out with their people. The puppies have had two puppy shots, their vet wellness check, a fecal test and are microchipped with a lifetime registration. Their third puppy shot is covered by the rescue and will be given about 3 weeks after the second shot (1/6). To keep them safe from parvo, the puppies cannot go outside until they have had all three sets of their puppy shots. (We highly recommend investing in a puppy pen.) Their spays will be scheduled at one of our vets when they are old enough and that procedure is included in the adoption fee. Because they have pending vet appointments they are local adoption only which is within a one hour drive to Pensacola. *To meet or adopt, you must first submit an adoption application for review.
