Arthur Needs a Foster or Adopter by 1/17/26 to Secure His Ride to Wisconsin Arthur is currently at a high-intake kill shelter in Georgia, and must have a foster or adopter commitment to secure his spot on the transport truck to Cedarburg, WI with Mutt Life Dog Rescue. Without a home lined up, Arthur will not be able to make the trip north. Meet Arthur Arthur's story is one of patience, resilience, and second chances. This 1-2 year old pittie mix arrived at the shelter as a stray, unsure of the world and understandably guarded. After being given time to decompress, Arthur revealed the dog he truly is: happy, playful, and full of love. Arthur is very social once he feels safe and truly shines around other dogs. He loves play groups and shows excellent canine social skills, making playtime the highlight of his day. He gets along great with other dogs, but is not a fan of cats. Arthur already knows 'sit' and takes treats gently, showing his polite and thoughtful nature. His soft eyes and goofy personality make him easy to fall in love with. More than anything, Arthur is looking for a soft place to land, a person to trust, and a home where he can finally feel safe and relaxed. He will do best in a home willing to continue building his confidence and allow him time to settle in. Arthur is the kind of dog who will blossom with love, bring joy through play, and remind his people just how powerful second chances can be. Apply: Fill out adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents. 2.)Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email. 3.)Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: after approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure its the right fit. 4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue. 5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have. 6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. The procedure MUST be done at HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI. If you would like to go through your veterinarian or another location, we will reimburse $150 once we receive proof of the procedure. We recommend spay/neuter around 6 months old. **Note: Adoptions are not considered final until the dog is neutered/spayed if applicable**
