About Monkey

Hi everyone. This is Monkey A631679 (a very active 7 year old) and my husband and I have been fostering him for a year now. We also just had our first child who just turned two months. Monkey is a great dog but we are realizing we may not be the best foster fit for him anymore. We really, really do not want to take him back to PACC. If you know anyone that would be a good fit or think you would like to foster this sweet boy please let us know. He deserves a loving home that's for sure. He loves playing in water and running around, but we have literally the smallest yard around. He also had to be put on trazodone when the baby came because he was wound up by his crying, and honestly probably all of my hormones, as well as caused him to have trouble eating. He's a great companion dog even though he has quite the alpha personality. He's never shown any agression towards the baby but he's high strung at times and has needed to worked through some situations of growling at us. With the baby and moving I just don't have the time he needs for training. And that's during leave, once I start working it'll be even harder for him. Some things about Mr. Monkey Man: He likes water, both playing with you and the hose and sitting in it in a kiddy pool He absolutely LOVES de-stuffing stuffed toys. He's the biggest couch potato and love bug He enjoys walks but is reactive to other dogs when leashed (we use a gentle leader that helps a lot and walk with treats to reinforce when appropriate) Monkey gets along well with our other resident dog and other foster dog.
