About Tonka

Meet Tonka! This delightful girl is full of personality and is eager to be by your side, claiming her spot as the center of your world. With a talent for cuddling, Tonka is ready to shower you with love just as you are. As a medium-energy dog, Tonka enjoys her daily walks but also loves to kick back and snooze. Her typical day starts with a stumble down for breakfast (she literally falls into the walls), followed by a cozy nap after her potty break. She's an enthusiastic fetch player, especially with tennis balls, and delights in splashing around with a hose or in water. Tonka is looking for a loving home, ideally with a young adult or college student who can give her the attention she craves. She will thrive in a family with older children who respect her space. While she can be a bit selective about her doggy friends, she adores dogs with a golden retriever-like energy; she even has a best buddy at doggy daycare! Although Tonka is house-trained and knows basic commands, she does experience some separation anxiety and is currently on Prozac to help manage it. She's up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. Tonka is also working through some food allergies and is on a fish-based diet to keep her happy and healthy. Tonka may be a bit grumpy around small feral children, but she's currently living with two boys ages 3 and 5. She tolerates them, but calm or older kids would be a better fit. Additionally, Tonka does not get along with cats. If you're ready to make Tonka the star of your life, she can't wait to meet you!
