Great Dane
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

LOCATION: Rosharon, TX DOB: 11/18/2023 Meet Bruce, a Great Dane who defines quiet devotion and gentle companionship. Bruce is an incredibly sweet, people-focused boy who is happiest when he's close to those he trusts. He doesn't need much to be content-a comfortable place to rest, a hand to lean into, and someone who truly wants him by their side. If you're looking for a dog who values connection over everything else, Bruce fits that role beautifully. Bruce has a well-balanced energy level for a Dane. He enjoys running, playing outside, and having a good burst of zoomies, especially if there's a game of chase involved. Once he's had his fun, he settles easily and turns into a world-class cuddler. Toys don't interest him much; he'd rather spend that time with you. He naturally sticks close, happy to follow from room to room and quietly keep you company. He's a joy to live with. Bruce walks nicely on a leash, rides well in the car, is crate trained, and is fully housetrained. He listens well and genuinely wants to do the right thing. He's done well integrating into a home with other dogs and can live with canine companions who are calm, patient, and properly introduced. He would also be perfectly content as an only dog, soaking up all the affection for himself. Mealtimes do require structure, as with many dogs-he is fed separately to prevent any issues, and with that routine in place, things run smoothly. Bruce has clearly had a difficult past, but he's healing both physically and emotionally. He's still working on gaining some weight, and most of his old injuries are nearly healed. What stands out most is how appreciative he seems now that he knows what safety and kindness feel like. He shows it in subtle ways-choosing to lie right next to you, gently leaning his weight against you, or quietly asking for affection without demanding it. He does well with adults and older children and has been great with kids around 12 and up. Because he's a large dog who isn't fully aware of his size and likes to lean, a home without small children would be best for now. He isn't bothered by loud noises like vacuums, fireworks, or traffic. He may bark if someone walks by the property, but he has been friendly and appropriate with visitors and dog guests alike. Bruce is neutered and nearing the end of heartworm treatment after previously testing low positive. Medically and behaviorally, he's in a great place and ready to move forward. The ideal home for Bruce is one where he can truly be a companion, not just a pet. A yard for playtime would be a bonus, but what matters most is a family or individual who values closeness, consistency, and quiet loyalty. Bruce has so much love to give and is simply looking for someone who will let him stay close and finally feel at home. ========================= To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .
