Home needed for 4 year old female Alaskan Malamute/Husky mix. Sushi is a beautiful Alaskan Malamute/Husky mix born on February 14, 2022-Valentine's Day, a fitting birthday for such a loving and affectionate dog. My sister and I adopted Sushi from her litter at 8 weeks old, and she has been raised in a structured, attentive, and loving home environment ever since. She is crate trained and primarily an indoor dog, with regular outdoor playtime and daily walks. At 6 months old, Sushi attended Dogs World Academy, where she completed basic obedience training. In addition to her formal training, she has continued working closely with me and knows multiple commands, including heel (walking calmly by your side), wait (pausing at doorways), where's your toy (locating her toy), as well as sit, down, up, and stay. For consistency and training purposes, Sushi is not allowed on furniture such as couches or beds. https://youtu.be/pNIQJhgibeM Sushi does extremely well with other dogs and enjoys canine companionship. However, she is not a good fit for homes with cats. We attempted introductions with cats in a previous adoption setting, but unfortunately she did not adjust well-likely due to her prey drive and not being raised around cats from a young age. Her medical care is fully up to date, and she is very well maintained. Sushi is groomed every 4-6 weeks, including brushing, bathing, teeth brushing, and nail trims. She also receives regular coat care at home, keeping her thick, beautiful coat in excellent condition. She eats Kirkland dog food from Costco, approximately 3%BD to 4 cups per day, and is not fed human food. Sushi currently weighs about 76 pounds. Sushi is a sweet, affectionate dog with a gentle personality and a curious spirit. She enjoys being around people, settles well indoors, and thrives in a calm, loving home where she can be part of everyday life. She does best with consistent routines, positive reinforcement, and a family willing to give her attention, structure, and love. She enjoys daily walks, light playtime, and relaxing near her people. Sushi sleeps indoors and is accustomed to being part of the household rather than left outside. She is happiest when she has companionship and benefits from regular exercise and mental enrichment. Sushi would be a wonderful match for someone looking for a loyal companion. Her ideal home is one that understands the importance of patience during transitions and introductions, values long-term commitment, and keeps her well-being the top priority.
