From the cruel streets of Temple,Texas, Harvey showed up on my porch, starved, bleeding, covered in bites, fleas and really needing safe haven and help. He received vet care, lots of nourishing food, was neutered and thus entered my personal clowder. He was ever entertaining and over the top in everything he did. His full name is Harvey Wallbanger, as he was always sliding or crashing into things in his full tilt ways. Then, I noticed that he was really scuffed up and one eye was trying to cloud. Began treatment and it did not totally clear. Vet says he likely has vision, but developed nystagmus, or zigzag eye. He has no coordination issues, except the sliding part, no vestibular problems or head tilt. But imagine how the world looks with your left eye moving back and forth constantly! I think he was grazed by a car, but the incident changed how he interacts with other cats. He showed that he didn't really want to be with other cats, would get aggressive toward them and want to go out at night, spoiling for a fight. He becomes overstimulated and generally acts a lot more like a doggo than a cat. He would love to be in charge of his own kingdom, the sheriff of the kitty county. He excels in being a pro level mouser, destroyer of lizards and geckos and sighter of all things strange and exciting. Garbage trucks, dogs on walks and oh my, bicycles!! He is interested in everything and it must pass muster to be allowed on the property. He is a very good boy, but you really must understand, if you live in a catty area, he will remain overstimulated. My other cats are tired of all the fireworks and I am looking for a better arrangement for Harvey. He deserves love, attention and for the most part, calm. He would do best in a cat door situation, being brought in overnight. He does come when called. He loves balls and jingle toys. He has learned to fetch golf balls here. He is a good boy, about 3 and deserves to have his own private family of hoomans and a safe place to guard the fort, possibly with a garage or even a barn. The main criterion is no other cats.He just cannot handle it well. If you want a laugh a minute, street smart goofy and wild eyed child, Harvey is your guy. He is a head butting, in your face pirate king. He just needs a safe place to decompress and be himself, on his terms. In spite of his past injuries and fights, he is sweet and very loving. A real hoot and wild and crazy guy. Thank you for considering him! Please contact Dana 512-843-9884. Harvey has a sponsor so no adoption fee is required. Donations would be appreciated but are not necessary.
