About Marzipan

Marzipan was rescued from St. Vincent's Home in Guadalajara, Mexico, on 12/17/25. At the time, anywhere from 300+ dogs-and more recently still over 200- were living there in far less than ideal conditions. Marzipan was one of the many dogs quietly trying to survive in a place overwhelmed beyond its capacity. He tested positive for Ehrlichia, a common tick-borne disease, and is currently receiving treatment. His lab work and ultrasound also revealed chronic kidney disease, which we are managing with supplements and a carefully balanced, healthy diet. He is still very underweight, but his appetite is strong, and as he begins to feel better, we're seeing small but meaningful changes-more energy, more presence, more life. His ears are frayed, likely from being bitten by other dogs at the shelter. He has no teeth, is estimated to be around 12 years old, and yet his resilience continues to amaze us. Despite everything his body has endured, Marzipan keeps choosing to try. And we will keep choosing him right back. Marzipan has been cleared to travel to Washington, where we hope he can spend the final chapter of his life knowing comfort, safety, and love-perhaps for the very first time. ���� Can you help fulfill Marzipan's dream of being loved beyond the imaginable?
