Skoll is a lovable, playful, and incredibly friendly Husky/Lab mix. He is loyal and caring for his people with that wonderful ability of a Husky to have solely decorative ears unless food is involved. He has received a lot of training and is solid on basic commands (Sit/Stay/Wait/Down) and has fair recall (Though he will take the route of most sniffs to come back). He is fully housetrained and great in a car. He will go into a crate but hasn't been officially crate trained and prefers to sleep near his people. He is not typically destructive and knows his toys from not toys. (His favorite toys will be included with him) He recently showed signs of back pain and while he has improved he has been kept on trazadone and gabapentin so as not to reinjure. We are currently awaiting results from scheduled MRI to determine diagnosis. He is still very mobile but would do better in an environment where he has freedom to explore in a place that allows short duration exercise regularly. We sadly no longer have schedules or accommodations which facilitate his needs. Due to his condition our previous exercise method of running and long hikes with him are no longer feasible and he is naturally not enjoying the reduced time out of the city. We believe he would be better suited to a place with a yard where he can take regular short trips out to sniff and explore or with a family that has the schedule which allows for multiple shorter walks. He is so cute and lovable and while we have not had him long we know we are not right for him moving forward but we would like to see him go to a home where he can be happy.
