About Ruby

Meet Ruby - the gentle dachshund mix with a heart as soft as her spirit. Ruby and her canine companion were found wandering their neighborhood, clearly out of their element. When the owners were located, they declined to take them back - a heartbreaking moment for two dogs who had only ever known one home. Ruby's companion was taken to the shelter, but we couldn't bear to let Ruby follow...so we stepped in to give her the safe landing she deserved. Ruby is quiet. Calm. Unassuming. She won't rush you or demand attention - instead, she'll wait for that first kind glance and when your eyes meet, her tail gives the sweetest little wag...her gentle invitation for love. And oh, how she deserves it. This lovely girl avoids drama and conflict. She's easygoing, kind-hearted, and just wants peace, safety, and a human to adore. Ruby enjoys going for walks and taking the world at her own pace - but she can also be convinced that curling up on the couch with her person might just be the best activity of all.
