About Pete

Adoption Fee: $1.00
Great Pyrenees / Saint Bernard
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Pete is a 6-year-old, 85-lb neutered male mixed breed with the soul of a gentle giant. He is an absolute lovebug-extremely loyal, affectionate, and eager to please. Pete is wonderfully potty trained and has excellent manners in the home. Pete thrives on love and connection. He adores his big comfy bed, loves to cuddle, and will greet you happily every time you walk through the door. He would do best in a home where he can soak up lots of affection and be treated as a true family member. When out walking one-on-one with his handler, Pete can be protective-especially of women-but he is perfectly fine in group settings and does great with other dogs. This protective instinct comes from loyalty, not aggression, and he is otherwise calm, gentle, and well-behaved. Pete would do best in a home without cats, or with very slow and thoughtful introductions. Pete came to us as a stray and has clearly been through a lot. X-rays revealed several pellets in his hind area, and he has since had both lower canines removed due to prior damage. Despite his past, Pete's spirit remains incredibly sweet and trusting. Sadly, Pete keeps getting overlooked because of his size-but once you meet him, you'll understand just how special he is. He has the softest, most gentle eyes and a loving nature that makes him incredibly easy to fall for. Pete is truly the most amazing dog, and he's ready to find the forever home he deserves. Come meet him-you'll see.
