Fred is a 50-pound, neutered, 3-4-year-old tricolor shepherd/border collie-type mix. He is fully house trained. Fred is very loving and loyal once he bonds. He takes treats gently, he is pretty good on a leash, settles well after outings, and will chill in the house with his person(s). He is initially more readily comfortable with women, but he has bonded well with men, too. And he is very good at play with other dogs and enjoys that. He also suffers from separation anxiety (barking, pacing, excessive drooling - not destructive, but highly stressed) and some fear anxiety when his boundaries are crossed (which can manifest as growling, barking, lunging) and is hypervigilant (like many herding breeds). He has worked with a trainer with good success, and I have continued to the extent possible. Fred is seeking an experienced, loving human/home who understands Fred's challenges and has the time and environment to work with him and give him a happy and fulfilling life. He is currently in a loving home, but unfortunately it is not sustainable, and he needs to find a new (hopefully perfect forever) home as soon as possible. P.S. A trainer reference and all of the notes from his sessions with his trainer (through Force Free DC) are available upon request. Additional photos are also available (this site only has space for one). And I would be happy to answer any questions.
