She came from Miami-Dade Animal Services, where she spent two long years waiting. Eventually, a rescue stepped up and pulled her-but even then, her life didn't become what we all hope for these dogs. Earlier this year, in February, Rita was transferred to Three Stooges Rescue. And while we wanted nothing more than to give her a home��%BD'��%BD| The truth is, we didn't have one available. So Rita went into boarding. She sits there now-patient, quiet, grateful for every cuddle and kind word the staff gives her. She hasn't shut down. She hasn't deteriorated. She still wags her tail. She still leans into love. But boarding is not a home. It's not a couch. It's not a person she gets to call hers. Rita needs to be the only pet-and that's it. No complicated medical needs. No chaos. She's people-oriented, easy to care for, and deeply devoted to the humans who give her attention. The kind of dog who just wants to be near you, to belong somewhere, to finally exhale. So we have to ask the question that hurts the most��%BD'��%BD| Why has no one shown interest in her? Are there really no homes left for a dog who just wants to love people? Is there no place for a girl who has done everything right and asked for so little? Rita doesn't need perfection. She needs a chance. She needs someone to be her miracle.
