We have a five-year-old Australian Shepherd who has been a wonderful dog and a beloved part of our family. Since bringing our new baby home four months ago, however, she has been experiencing significant stress and has begun showing signs of resource guarding. We have done everything we can to help her adjust, including training, management, and giving her additional attention, but it's clear that the constant stimulation and change in our home environment has been overwhelming for her. We truly believe she would thrive in a calmer home, ideally one without young children, where she can receive the structure, attention, and stability she deserves. This decision has been incredibly difficult, but our priority is her well-being and ensuring she has the opportunity to live her happiest, most fulfilled life. She is intelligent, loyal, and loving, and with the right environment, she will make an amazing companion.
