About Deke

Deke is a young male neutered Jack Russell mix weighing around 24 lbs. He is high energy, smart, and inquisitive. He was found as a stray. Since being found, he has learned multiple commands, is house broken, and is crate trained. His ideal person/family would be very active and include him in those activities. Activities he would likely enjoy include hiking, walks/jogs, obedience, agility, coursing, and scent games. He loves squeaky toys and chasing toys on a string. He is young, so is still exploring the world with his mouth - picking up any little thing. When outside he should either be leashed or in a 4' fenced enclosure. In families, children should be older simply because he is very exuberant and may overwhelm smaller children. Similarly, he enjoys playing with dogs, however he can be rambunctious, so other dogs should be his size or larger. He may overwhelm smaller dogs.
