Meet Nora the Explorer! A bright, curious girl who approaches life like one big adventure and can't wait to share it with you. Nora is incredibly smart and a fast learner who shines with positive reinforcement (especially when anything peanut butter is involved). She's eager to please, listens well, and has already learned sit, lay down, and stay in a short period of time. With her love of learning and drive to be a 'good girl', she clearly has the capacity to pick up even more. Training with Nora feels fun, rewarding, and collaborative. Curious by nature, Nora proudly runs what we call 'yard patrol,' investigating every sound, scent, and mystery with enthusiasm and confidence earning her nickname, Nora the Explorer. She loves bones and toys and will happily entertain herself in the yard, tossing toys around and inventing her own games (it's very cute). She's learning to play fetch and absolutely loving it. Nora is very dog-friendly and loves to play. She would do great with another dog to help show her the ways of the dog world, but she'd also thrive as a one-and-only. Just be warned, she will happily claim the roles of best friend, forever sidekick, and devoted snuggle pal. Nora is deeply people-oriented and truly wants to be connected to her humans. She doesn't want to just watch life from the sidelines. She wants to be part of whatever you're doing. She loves to snuggle, happily accepts belly rubs, and fully melts into whole-body scratches. Because connection matters so much to her, she's still learning how to appropriately communicate her need for affection and attention. At times she may use her mouth to express those needs, but this is not aggression. It's simply her way of saying she wants closeness. With gentle guidance, redirection, and positive reinforcement, she responds incredibly well and continues to make progress. Nora does best with daily activity and enrichment, but she also knows how to settle. After some exploring and investigating, she's more than happy to curl up for some Netflix-and-chill time with her people. She hasn't shown any destructive behaviors in her foster home and does a wonderful job balancing play, curiosity, and relaxation. Nora would do well in just about any home that can offer engagement, enrichment, and connection. She's the kind of dog where whatever love, time, and care you put into her, you'll get it back 100-fold.
