Meet Maverick, a 5-year-old neutered German Shepherd with a lot of loyalty and strength. He is deeply bonded to his own pack and does well with the people and dogs he knows and trusts. However, he is not dog-friendly outside of his pack and should be the only dog in the home unless placed with highly experienced handlers who understand structured pack management. Maverick struggles with anxiety and can be triggered by small or unpredictable stimuli, which may cause him to go into an attack/reactive mode. During these episodes, he is extremely difficult to redirect and will not respond to commands. He is very strong, determined, and stubborn, which means physical strength and confidence from his handler are essential. Because of his behavioral challenges, Maverick requires an experienced, knowledgeable owner who understands reactive dogs, is comfortable managing anxiety-based behaviors, and is committed to ongoing training and structure. He is not suitable for first-time dog owners, homes with frequent visitors, or environments with uncontrolled dog interactions. With the right person-someone patient, consistent, and skilled. Maverick has the potential to be a loyal and protective companion. He needs a calm, structured home where his boundaries are respected and his triggers are carefully managed
