Spot is a 5 year old Treeing Walker Coon Hound. We was not abused, but was neglected a bit off and on over the years as his owner (relative) was a relapse recovery alcoholic. He lived in an apartment and didn't have the opportunity to get out and run and roam like his breed likes. He was always well fed. His training was intermittent. We have been working with him and he now knows sit and shake. We are working to help him not jump up on people. That is a work in progress. We are also working on house breaking and he is doing well, however at this stage it is more us who are fully trained than he is, but he is understanding and accident incidence has greatly decreased. He is affectionate and loves attention. He very much wants to be a good boy with manners. He needs to be somewhere he has space to run. We are just unable to provide that for him or keep him long term. We have several other pets and do not have the space he needs to be a happy coon hound. We said good with adults and not kids because he does jump up and could knock a child over. He has not shown any aggression and is always happy to see people, so it is conceivable with manners he could be good with kids. We have spent time with him because we want to be sure he is able to go to a good home. His circumstances as a young pup were not his fault and we want him to live the rest of his years enjoying his best life.
