About Auggie

Meet Auggie! He's a 5-year-old purebred chocolate Labrador with a heart as big as his paws. At about 130 lbs, he's a gentle giant who sometimes forgets his size-he might knock you over in excitement, but never on purpose. Auggie is a lovable goofball who thrives on affection and will happily be your shadow. About Auggie: Age: 5 years old Breed: Purebred Chocolate Lab Weight: ~130 lbs Personality: Sweet, goofy, food-obsessed, and full of love Energy Level: Lower than in his puppy days, but still enjoys playtime and showing off his happy jumps Auggie LOVES mealtime and will try to convince you he hasn't eaten in days (don't fall for it!). He gets two vet-approved meals daily and the occasional treat. His excitement at feeding time is adorable-he'll race you to his bowl and stomp to make sure you know where to put his food. Why We're Rehoming: Auggie has lived with his brother and sister his whole life. While he's fine with his older sister, his relationship with his younger brother changed about a year ago due to resource guarding around food. Despite training efforts, tensions escalated, and Auggie recently showed aggression toward other dogs. He's never harmed a dog outside our home, but he does bark and growl when he sees them. Unfortunately, I'm moving in with family who have dogs, and they cannot accommodate Auggie. Ideal Home: A home where Auggie is the only dog Someone who understands big breeds and can provide structure A loving family who will give him the attention he deserves Auggie is truly a wonderful companion-loyal, affectionate, and full of personality.
