About CAROLE

CAROLE is a 4-year-old, 11.6 pound Shih Tzu surrendered to us to find a new home. She would do best in a calm, patient home that understands she's still learning and is willing to give her the time, structure, and gentle guidance she needs. In return, she offers quiet companionship, sweetness, and a whole lot of love. CAROLE is a very sweet little girl with the cutest underbite and tiny teeth that will absolutely steal your heart. She's confident, not skittish at all, and genuinely likes everyone she meets. She loves being close to her people and will happily follow you from room to room. While she doesn't jump up on the couch, she enjoys being picked up, held, and petted, and is perfectly content soaking up affection in your arms. CAROLE gets along well with other dogs but doesn't really engage in play, she's more of a calm companion than a social butterfly. We think she would enjoy at home with another little dog better than being an only dog but she could be an only in the right home. Her experience with kids and cats is currently unknown. CAROLE is still a work in progress when it comes to training. She is not potty trained and does not use a doggy door or pee pads. She needs someone patient and consistent who is willing to continue working with her on house training. She does sleep through the night without accidents. She is also not leash trained, and a fenced yard is ideal. CAROLE enjoys her meals and has some preferences when it comes to treats. She hasn't shown much interest in toys yet, but that may change as she continues to settle in and gain confidence. She isn't a big barker and has a laid-back, low-energy personality that makes her easy to have around. At night, she currently sleeps either in the bed with her foster or on a dog bed next to the bed. CAROLE is up to date on shots, spayed, heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. Important - check your spam folder for follow up questions and responses from our team. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida. We do not have a physical facility for visits. We adopt within a 6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally (within 1 hour to Pensacola). We do not ship or transport our dogs.
