About Abby

Abby is a young (15 months old) Great Pyrenees mix who was surrendered after her owners lost everything in the flooding caused by Tropical Storm Helene in September 2024. She is healthy, crate trained, and ready to start fresh in a loving home. Abby needs time to decompress. She is 'dog selective' and does not like over-active dogs. With proper, slow introductions she does well. She absolutely loves the small dogs here and plays with them as if she's their size-it's incredibly sweet and silly to watch. She would do best as an only pet or placed with her buddy, Teddy, a 3-year-old Chow mix (also posted on this site�'�|if you can take both, message me for his link). She is very affectionate, follows her humans everywhere, and gives endless kisses. Despite her size, she walks very slowly-almost like a senior dog. She is still a puppy at heart and does puppy things, so she will need patience, consistency, and continued training. Abby has only been around adults so we do not know how she would be with children. On a personal note, we would keep Abby myself if we could. She is funny, incredibly loving, and deeply bonded to her people. In the right home, with the right guidance, she will be an amazing companion. If you're interested in giving Abby the second chance she deserves, please reach out.
