Hello everyone and thank you for looking at our ad. PLEASE HELP MILO FIND A NEW HOME FOR CHRISTMAS! Wow, it has been an interesting 7- months! I bought this BEAUTIFUL, sweet, Blue and Gold Macaw from a lady in Fort Worth during May 2025 who gave me a certificate showing the bird was a female. Her name was Poppy and I changed it to Mia. I purchased her as a friend for my male Blue and Gold Macaw, however, within the first week they were fighting with each other and it has only gotten worse. Mia wants all of the attention! She does not want to share special time with her human, with another bird. The perfect owner for her would be someone who is home most of the day and someone who is committed to bonding with her as we have never bonded. She wants to be with you all of the time and is a great friend once she learns to trust you. Because Mia built a nest in the bottom of her cage, I assumed the certificate the lady gave me was valid and that Mia was a female. Because the two of them were fighting so much, I took her to the bird fair in Temple TX last month to see if I could find her a new home. They would not allow me to sell her there without renting a booth, however, a breeder from Houston handled her and told me there was no way she was a female. I was in shock. I showed him the nest that Mia built, and showed him how she was attacking my male, it was then, that he advised me males build nests too. He said that her bones were too close together and there would be no way for her to pass an egg! He said he was 100% sure Mia was a boy. I took her to my vet two weeks ago and she drew blood from Mia's leg and sent it to IDEXX to determine if Mia is a male or a female. ........ The test results are back and I am shocked to say that Mia, is a MALE! I know it is valid as the testing cost me $255 and it was done by my veterinarian. Now I realize why they fight so much as they are both males! It is hard for me to say HE, but Mia is a male. So I have been calling her Milo. Milo is great with dogs and kids. If Milo is not directly with you or covered up for the night, he will call for you. If he can hear you, he wants to be with you. He does talk, he speaks both English and Spanish. He talks in a female voice and says 'I am a pretty girl'. Milo steps up on both a training stick and my hand. He loves outdoor showers with the sprayer on 'mist' and he loves his big tree which will go along with him. Mostly, he LOVES his human. He wants to find his special human, could that be you? Milo loves walking around the floor in the house, I believe he would rather be on the floor or on the couch vs. a perch. He loves all nuts; pine nuts and peanuts are his favorite. He loves looking in the mirror and he meows like a cat. He has never bitten me. Milo has been vet checked by Temple Veterinary Hospital, Dr. McKamie. Milo is healthy. The following are included in the price; 1) His large cage, 2) XXL manzanita branches, 3) His huge nighttime cover-up sheet, 4) Food, nuts, toys, 5) His XXL tree which measures 48' Tall x 44' Wide, 6) XL dog crate which I use to transport him. I also use it outside when he takes a shower. If you want to see more pictures or videos please let me know and I will send them to you. Thank you for taking the time to view Milo's ad. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY. The price is firm at $3,500 for everything. Cash only. If you have no intention of spending $3,500 please do not respond to the ad. Thank you, Teresa Jackson
