About Auggie

Adoption Fee: $150
Great Pyrenees / Australian Cattle Dog
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Auggie is a bright, joyful, high-energy two-year-old who has truly been one of the lights of our lives. She is affectionate, playful, and full of personality. She is the kind of dog who brings laughter into a home every single day. Making this decision has been heartbreaking, and it's one we would never make unless we believed it was the best chance for her to thrive. Auggie is fully potty-trained and has a solid foundation of training. She knows her basic cues, walks well on leash, and is eager to engage and learn. She loves walks, absolutely lives for ball, and has an impressive athletic streak-she can jump straight up nearly six feet! Despite that vertical ability, she has never jumped a gate and has shown good impulse control in those situations. She is an active, playful dog with a lot of life and fun ahead of her. Auggie would do best in a home that enjoys being outside, playing, and giving her regular physical and mental outlets. She still has so much play left in her and would thrive with someone who loves an energetic, engaged companion. In our current household, we've learned that Auggie needs a very specific environment to feel safe and successful, and we are committed to finding the home that fits her best. With the right setup, structure, and understanding, she has the potential to be an incredible lifelong companion. Auggie is a very good girl. She is loving, loyal, and full of heart. Our greatest hope is to see her land in a home where she can feel secure, understood, and truly flourish. Auggie has never shown aggression toward people and forms very deep, loyal bonds with the humans she trusts. She is affectionate, people-focused, and thrives on close human connection. That said, Auggie needs a very specific home environment in order to feel safe and successful. She cannot live in a home with children, dogs, cats, or other animals, and will do best as the only pet in a calm, structured household with experienced, attentive adults. Auggie does resource guard toys and food, which is an important behavior for her future family to understand. With proper know-how, calm handling, and consistency, she can be easily persuaded to give up items and responds well to owners who respect her boundaries and use thoughtful management techniques. This behavior has been manageable in our home and is something a knowledgeable, committed adopter can continue to work with successfully. These disclosures are not a reflection of who Auggie is at her core. She is loving, joyful, and deeply devoted. This is an honest picture of what she needs to thrive long-term. Providing the right structure and environment is essential to setting her up for success.
