Hi, I'm Roman 13-year-old Male Akita | Senior | Not neutered (likely required) Hello, I'm Roman. I'm a 13-year-old Akita gentleman with a calm presence, a loyal heart, and plenty of wisdom that comes with age. I came to the shelter with Sasha, my longtime companion, but after careful observation, my shelter friends believe I would be okay starting a new chapter in my own home. I'm a sweet boy who likes people and enjoys quiet companionship. I show very typical Akita traits , independent, dignified, and deeply loyal once I trust you. Because of my breed and age, adopters with large-breed or Akita experience are strongly preferred, and applications will be thoroughly screened to make sure I land in the right home. Dog Compatibility: I may do well with a large, calm female dog who is already spayed, with slow introductions. No small animals: I have a high prey drive and cannot live with cats or small dogs. This is very important for everyone's safety. Home & training: I've always been an outdoor dog, living in a small run, so I am not house- or crate-trained. I'll need patience, routine, and understanding as I learn what indoor life looks like. Because of my age, the shelter is cautious about surgery, but neutering may be required as part of my adoption plan.
