Zoe looks like a Black Lab and Rottweiler mix. She's 6-8 years old. She is spayed. She is up to date on all of her shots. She tested very low positive for heartworms and the vet says that it's such a low positive that she doesn't need heartworm treatment, just a monthly heartworm preventative to get rid of them. Zoe supposedly had an owner who loved her very much, but he went to prison and she was left in the care of his family. They stuck Zoe in the back yard of her owners house, and left the house sitting empty with no one to care for Zoe. X-rays show a pellet lodged in Zoe's chest, too deep to be accidental. Eventually, Zoe began escaping her yard (but always returning) to find food. One day while out of her yard, she was picked up by animal control. She was extremely underweight at less than 60 pounds (she is 96lbs now.) Zoe spent a month in the shelter and was scheduled to be euthanized when she was selected to be a foster instead. Unfortunately, due to Zoe's age, Zoe hasn't had a single person follow through with meeting her, and the organization that once fostered her suggested she be returned to the shelter bc she is too hard to adopt out. The Little Rock shelter has the highest kill rate in the state, and so this is a last effort to avoid the shelter. Zoe is extremely well behaved. She listens well and is friendly with all people, including children. She is energetic and playful and LOVES a ball. She is fully potty trained, crate trained, and does well on and off leash. She does not run off or venture too far on her own. Zoe is a very happy dog and has always maintained a noticably happy spirit. Zoe is unpredictable with other dogs and will do best in a home without other pets. Her foster home does have other dogs in the home, which means Zoe spends too much time alone bc she had to be separated. She deserves more attention and love than I can give her in this setting! Please text at any time for more photos, Zoe is a BEAUTIFUL dog. 501-246-6406
