Keeley came to us after being found as a stray. The finder kept her safe while looking for her family, but sadly no one came forward. We don't know how long she was out on the streets, but her coat was very badly matted so she had to be shaved. At 3-4 years old it's clear she had puppies, maybe multiple litters before she came into rescue. Keeley is an absolute bundle of love wrapped up like a holiday gift in just 16lbs!%A0 Her favourite thing in the whole world is people. She cannot possibly, even if she tried just a teeny bit harder, get any closer to her foster mom. If she could sit on her lap 24/7, she would. At night, she sleeps in bed with her foster mom and she really, really wants to be touching if she can which is lovely in the cold wintertime.%A0 She loves being picked up and getting cuddles.%A0 Keeley's tail goes super-fast, and especially when out on a walk. She loves all the sights and smells so much.%A0She is learning not to walk right under your feet while at home and on a walk and with practice will get there.%A0 Because Keeley was most likely living on the streets for a period of time, initially she was very scared of lots of things. Big dogs were definitely at the top of the list and it took her a while to adjust to the two in her foster home (a Golden Retriever and a Samoyed - who can be noisy) and she would growl often to tell them to back off and leave her alone.%A0 Luckily,%A0they understood and gave her the time and space she needed.%A0After a few days she became far less bothered by them and has learned they are not going to hurt her so in turn she no longer growls at them. She also growled at things like her food and water bowls - we think she had to scare others away from both things so that she got some, especially while on the streets%A0- but now she sees she has her own and can get water whenever she wants, she is much better.%A0 Keeley will bark when folks knock on the door/ring the bell or when she hears a noise that she wants to alert to you to, but she settles down quickly. She's a good guard dog for her size! She is never vicious or aggressive, just alert.%A0She is learning to be housebroken - it's a work in progress, but she is improving every day - continued praise and frequent trips/access outside, will get her there - she has only had the very occasional accident.%A0 She is not a fan of the car - she will shake, but she is quiet and will ride along just fine.%A0 We feel Keeley would like to be your one and only pup and get all of the loving she deserves.%A0 A home that will take her on walks, let her sit or lay next to you on the couch and on the bed with you to sleep.%A0 While her foster mom works in a home office, she curls up into the smallest of balls on a comfy dog bed.%A0 %A0Keeley will be the love of your life if you let her!
