About Luke

Luke is a deeply bonded, sensitive Shar-Pei who forms very strong attachments to his person. He is loving, loyal, and people-oriented, and thrives when he has consistent human presence and a predictable routine. Luke struggles with significant separation anxiety. He is best suited for a home where someone is home most of the day (retired, work-from-home, or very flexible schedule) and where departures are minimal or gradual. A calm, patient environment is important for him to feel safe. Luke is affectionate and very attached to his people. He seeks reassurance through proximity and does best with a steady, confident handler who understands anxious or 'velcro' dogs. He is not aggressive and has not shown bite behavior.
