Meet Oscar ... the dazzling, curly-haired dynamo whose energy is infectious and whose love is unconditional! This is not your grandma's quiet lap dog; this is a dog with a vibrant personality and some very specific needs. Oscar's Vitals: Breed: Small Standard Poodle Age: 18 months old Weight: 39 pounds Location: Pensacola, FL What Makes Oscar One of a Kind? The Fidget Spinner Factor (ADD): Oscar has some serious Attention Deficit Disorder! His brain moves a million miles an hour, and he can get easily distracted. The Fear Of Missing Out (FOMO): Everything you do is fascinating! If you look away, he assumes something amazing is happening, and he must investigate immediately. The Mealtime Monitor: Because of the ADD and FOMO, mealtime is a group activity! He needs an adopter who is willing to stand by and gently refocus him while he eats. He'll often look up, convinced a squirrel just invented flying, so he needs a loving reminder to finish his kibble. The Zoomie King: Be prepared for sudden, unpredictable bursts of CRAZY ENERGY! He may run three laps around your couch, vault over a pillow, and then collapse for a nap. It's hilarious! The Bathroom Brilliance (Bonus Feature!): Despite all the chaos swirling inside his curly little brain, Oscar is surprisingly solid in the potty department! He's never peed in the house, and he has only pooped once or twice on or near a potty pad, so by household standards, he's rocking a 98% potty-trained success rate. Honestly, for a dog whose attention span is the same length as a TikTok clip, this is basically Ivy League level achievement. The Good Stuff (Family Friendly!): Walks are Life But a Fenced Yard is a Must: Oscar absolutely LOVES going on walks (while leashed of course) and exploring the world with you. That said, this zoomie-powered poodle brain really benefits from having a safely fenced yard where he can run, play, burn off energy, and satisfy his 'what's happening over THERE?!' curiosity without putting himself at risk. A fenced yard isn't just a preference for him, it's a need to keep him happy and secure. A Social Butterfly with Boundaries: Oscar is wonderful with other dogs, cats, and kids and loves having canine companionship. Because his play style matches his personality (enthusiastic, bouncy, and sometimes a little extra), he does best with a young, playful dog friend who's 25 lbs or larger and can comfortably keep up with him. Small and older dogs may find his zest for life a bit overwhelming. Oscar means well, he just doesn't have an 'inside voice' when it comes to play. The Ultimate Snuggler: After his wild bursts, he transforms into the most loving companion. He is a phenomenal snuggler who will melt into you, demanding belly rubs and giving the sweetest kisses. Oscar needs a patient, active home that can appreciate his unique quirks. If you are looking for a dog that will make you laugh every single day and fill your quiet moments with the softest snuggles, then this lovable goofball is for you! *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review.
